Works great with Excel. I use it to perform basic inventory functions, nothing special. I only have a few hundred items that need to be inventoried twice a year and do the check in/out function every now and then. I've tried expensive and costly software/hardware packages in the past, but have never been able to get the software to work as quickly and efficiently as my Excel spreadsheet that I've kept for years. All I really needed was a way to get data faster, either in an Excel search field or in a column during a full inventory. That works great. No software required (I only use Excel but it outputs data wherever you place the cursor), no drivers required. Just plug it in and load Excel or whatever you use :) Makes a nice chirp when it scans a tag accurately and even moves down 1 cell automatically so you're ready for the next tag without the having to move the cursor. Stays in the column you put it in, which not everyone does. Some automatically move to the next row in the first column, others don't move at all. That's exactly what I need. Now I can use my Excel spreadsheet to take inventory quickly and easily. Love it.
