Bought this set to replace a square taper crank and it worked great. Very smooth and balanced feel. A great set kit at an affordable price. The only thing you have to worry about is the chain line. This bearing type sits outside the bottom bracket body by about a quarter to half an inch which will push your chain line out by as much. I was changing the drive from a 3x24 to a 1x8 on a Mongoose Sector frame and luckily the chain line still set perfect. A similar change on a hardtail frame though pushed the line out so that going down to the 1st gear would throw the chain off the crank cog. 2nd through 8th worked fine but 1st was a no-go so I just set the derailer adjustment's to lock-out that 1st gear. Since I don't use 1st anyway it was no big deal.Something to keep in mind though if your DIY with your bikes. Aside from that, I love this bearing crank setup. It has a far better, balanced feel over the sealed cartridge system and a more secure arm attachment with a clampdown approach rather than the square tapers wedge-on and bolt.
