NOT for noise reduction guys!

The first thing you should know is that this product is NOT designed to be a "soundproof" or noise dampening material. It primarily aims to reduce platen vibration by increasing the mass of the fragile/flexible areas. This will especially help get rid of shock and vibration. in your vehicle. The people who gave it 1 or 2 stars obviously didn't do their homework before applying. When used strategically/correctly, this should not require more than 25-30% coverage per panel. It's also designed to be used in combination with AT LEAST a decoupling layer to dissipate sound waves (typically closed-cell foam, aka CCF, hence Noico's "green material"). Without that layer of decoupling, all you can hope for is less chatter and vibration. If you really don't want true "noise reduction" you will need at least one CCF and ideally a layer of MLV (Massively Loaded Vinyl) over the CCF. However, this is extreme and quickly adds weight to your car (it's loaded with mass, after all). Second, you should know that this material is way better than anything else on the market in its price range. No worse than Dynamat Extreme, much cheaper and much easier to process. 100% butyl, odorless, excellent adhesion. Noico engineers have done a fantastic job developing this product. The only products that have a significant performance advantage are 2-3 times more expensive in terms of SF. These are KnuKonceptz (great but $$$) and SDS CLD tiles (out of business). A good benefit is 30% panel coverage in the least supported areas per panel, followed by 100% coverage with 180 mil CCF. by Noiko. I would also recommend finishing both sides of all 4 wheel arches (inside and out) to reduce road/tire noise. However, it does require a relatively good hand to turn a wrench and at least 4 or 5 hours of elbow time/greasing. Enjoy!
