This tool is ideal for setting threaded rivets in hard-to-reach places. Just make sure the threaded rod is inserted straight through the rivet to be used and adjust the amount of compression required to the thickness of the material being used, as excessive compression will damage the tool or the job it is being used for. Photo 1 shows the mandrel is all the way through the rivet. Photo #2 shows the adjustment of the main clamp to give the rivet the required degree of compression. Photos 3 and 4 show the length of the mandrel before and after the rivet was installed. Note that different size rivet nuts require more or less compression stroke in the tool.
