Exceptionally quiet and powerful shredder with questionable bin design and very odd rollers

First I must warn you that my review was written during my honeymoon and I look forward to using a shredder that can actually grind more than one sheet of 20 pound paper and will not tear the eardrum. Pros: - Quiet. The loudest thing about this shredder is the beep beep beep sound of paper being chewed. No primal screams from a low powered motor that rivals a skill buzz saw. It seems Bonsaii's engineers decided to use the shredder's power to shred paper instead of ripping out eardrums. Engine and transmission are very quiet and sometimes you can hear the internal fan kicking in to cool the device, and it's also very quiet. I've read reviews saying this is a quiet grinder, but I was actually amazed at how quiet it is. -- Perfomance. I consider max blade horsepower to be something like EPA mileage, you'll never see those results. So I have a 50% rule. The shredder spec is 14 sheets, I use 7 to 9. It shreds 8 sheets of 20lb paper without even noticing. It's 800% better than my old chopper and I don't have to wear headphones. I don't know how well it does with 14 sheets and I won't find out, I'm fine with 8 sheets, why press the window. duty cycle. This chopper will outlive me. I used it for half an hour with no cooling issues. The internal fan turned on occasionally, but otherwise there was no sign of overloading or overheating. It is designed for 2 hours of continuous use. I have no reason to believe that this will not happen. I think at a lower sheet feed speed this shredder could run over 2 hours but I have no proof of that. Emergency Stop: A backlit stop button is visible on the front of the shredder, allowing you to quickly stop the shredder if you overload it or, worse, a garment gets caught. If this thing grabs your tie, you can stop it quickly. The switch has a small disadvantage as it is very easy to press, when you feed a lot of small items quickly. I just need to train my muscle memory to stay away from the key. -- The weight. This chopper only weighs 25 pounds. In my research I have found many shredders with much smaller duty cycles of over 30lbs. A highly rated shredder weighed 39 pounds but had a 30 minute duty cycle with a 40 minute cool down. Removing a container. Drawer on wheels, easy to roll out. It has hard stops so the container stays in place until you remove it. Not so positive aspects: Trash cans. Removing the bin from the shredder is fairly easy, but unloading it is not. As well designed as the rest of this shredder, the bin is disappointing. Those good strong support posts, that hold the basket securely in the shredder are on the front of the basket where the paper collects, not on the outside edges. Racks are located on the back of the basket to hold a temporary CD collection basket. Front corners and window mounts have reinforcing braces. All of these protrusions are there to prevent the shredded paper from falling out of the bin when you try to dispose of it. As I filled a 30-gallon trash bag, I found that each successive emptying became more difficult as I tried to pry the paper out of the trash can and keep the scraps inside the bag. My solution is to have two bags on hand. Empty the trash can into an empty 30 gallon bag and then fill the contents of that bag into another bag, which you can easily fill so you always empty the bin into an empty bag. I also quickly decided that my old habit of stuffing scraps in the bin wouldn't work with this paper shredder. I'll level the stack but don't ram it, it just makes it harder to empty the trash can. - Customers. Small roles are already installed in the device. Strangely, they are unidirectional. The chopper moves sideways, but if you try to pull it towards you or push it away from you, the rollers will scratch the floor, making it feel like they won't hold up as you continue. When you need to move the chopper, the steering requires you to lift one side to clear the casters off the ground, or slide the casters forward and hope for the best. I turned the chipper upside down and checked to see if the castors were locked. No, all four reels are tiny fixed direction reels. which doesn't work well on thick carpets. It seems to me that this is similar to the descriptions mathematicians use to explain four-dimensional space "flatlands". This shredder travels well through the fictional one-dimensional world of Lente-Earth. This is a very strange attitude. I give this grinder 4 Β½ stars. The rollers and the difficulty of emptying the bin are not that important to me compared to the high performance, long duty cycle and low noise level of this unit. Since I'm still in the afterglow, I've rounded up to 5 stars. I give this grinder 4 Β½ stars.
