This is a 7 hour harrowing mechanical nightmare of a project to replace those coil packs in an Avalon 6 cylinder engine. Cylinders 1, 3 and 5 are located under the intake manifold and near the firewall. Even if you remove the intake manifold and relocate all the brackets and wiring, you only have an inch of room to work with, and it feels like you're being unfairly punished for a heinous crime you didn't even commit. When two of the 6 sets of coils failed less than 30 days after installation I had to go through the entire 7 hour excruciating torture session again to replace them. It was a miserable job and I had to live without a car for what felt like an eternity while I found time to devote a second day of work to repeating what I had already done! Do yourself a favor and instead of buying them, buy more expensive and reliable coils, and then ALSO buy more expensive reliable parts. In truth, your hands will thank you for not turning them into a throbbing, bloody, torn mass of scar tissue, and your life will be MUCH better.
