I ordered some of these because I put USB sticks in my bag, which usually collects lint and sometimes even dirt. I work in the garden so sometimes I'm in the mud. I've used them on flash drives, USB cables, and other USB connectors from various brands. They fit snug enough to stay in place until removed, but are lost enough that you don't have to use a screwdriver or pliers to remove them. I would say that's almost right. I haven't fallen off one until I took them off. The material it's made of is a bit sticky so it helps keep it in place. They are really good and do a great job.
