Review on Reliable Hot Surface Oven Igniter with 12in Capillary Length: Ensuring Efficient Ignition by Jerome Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Virtually identical to the original part on my oven at 1/5 the price

I bought a Dacor gas range in 2016. The original stove igniter failed immediately after the warranty expired. I foolishly paid the handyman (who damaged the bottom of my oven thinking it could be pulled out - it's bolted down) plus another $100 for the Dacor part. It took less than a year and after a little research I gave it a go. here Same manufacturer, same specs and visually identical (except for an additional mounting tab to allow for more ovens) as the OEM part. Took 10 minutes to install and so far (2 months) it has performed as well or even better than the original. It's an absurd system where full voltage goes through the igniter while the stove is on - it's guaranteed to fail sooner or later but I think they don't want us consumers to be able to turn the stove on without lighting it, who knows. what can happen.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • No
