I have wall space for a rack that's a little over 30" vertical so I bought a 15U which says 30". I calculated that 15U would be 26-1/4" vertical, so 30" made sense. I even double-checked the downloaded installation manual and it said 30 inches.” To my surprise, however, after assembly it was 30-1/2 inches. This is a significant difference for me, but not for most of you. I sent it back and ordered 12U. It's all StarTech's fault, but Revain gets it right. I hope he survives. Returned as all corners of the box were damaged when received. Well made from heavy gauge steel including great parts. StarTech used heavy-duty hex cage nuts instead of threaded holes or weld nuts for assembly, but secured the back panel.
