Don't listen to the haters.

Heard and seen horror stories. Relax, this is one person's experience. I have found this item to work perfectly. I've taken it on a trip from Philadelphia to Maine and back without a single problem. I mistakenly bought this item thinking it could be used without a roof rack. I went to Home Depot, bought three packs of $13 mid-size Husky ratchet straps, and hit the road. Very durable, easy to use and works well in wind and rain. I recommend to anyone and everyone.
