5 stars for the hardware but 1 star for the app. The application is clumsy in configuring the rules. Opening an app or clicking the refresh button to see the device's status, whether it's on or off, is rarely the right thing to do. It's like it's not updating the actual socket state, but rather updating what the app thinks the devices' state was when it was last launched. For example, use your phone and tablet to install the app. And you have registered 1 socket and the socket is definitely switched off. Now use your phone to turn on the outlet. Your phone shows the socket correctly. But when you update on the tablet, the tablet shows that the socket is switched off. Okay, then just turn on the outlet on the tablet (even if the outlet is actually on). The tablet STILL shows the socket as switched off. The only way to know for sure that the outlet is on via the tablet is to turn on the outlet (already there), turn it off, and then turn it back on. What a terrible app. But if it's used by just one person and not multiple devices, it might be fine. Update: the app is still bad. There was a firmware update and I followed the steps to update devices but only 1 out of 3 updated. Also all 4 I have randomly go offline. Usually once a month. Disconnect, reconnect and it works again. I still have to buy some smart connectors and will use a different brand. If those 2 are good then I take 4 more to replace the Vemos and just give them to anyone who wants to play with something.
