Good locks but a few security issues

The good thing about these locks is that you can easily read the numbers, which helps in low light. The cable is small enough to fit through most small holes in the ends of luggage zippers. I use them to zip up my suitcase as well as the zips on my carry-on luggage. The main disadvantage of these locks is that the cable's plastic jacket is not crimped at the ends along with the braid. This means that over time the coating will peel off revealing the bare metal underneath. This allows it to be weakened by moisture and corrosion, making it easier for a would-be thief to cut the cable in this vulnerable area. Big malfunction. The TSA flag display is not working as advertised. It didn't come out when I packed my suitcase, but when I opened it I found a small security business card inside. While this doesn't affect the functionality of the lock, it was a bonus feature that inspired me to buy it. There have been reports of movers using "pirated" TSA keys. If one of them ends up in your pocket you'll have no idea as they don't leave a card saying they ransacked it.
