After using this for quite some time I found that the bottom rack/element heats up much more than the top rack/element . The waffles are getting very brown on the bottom and the top is just starting to turn brown, and the same goes for the sandwiches. When trying to cook the bacon, I had to turn the bacon to crisp it up. Nonstick plates are hand wash only, there isn't much washing involved with them. The coating on the plates is still holding. The egg rings were severely deformed during transportation and would not lay flat, causing the eggs to leak when they first started cooking. I'm a little surprised that the top and bottom are so far apart in the heating department and overall I have to reconsider recommending this unit to someone looking for a really good waffle maker. As far as it's good to make and eat sandwiches and easy to clean up, just don't rely on timerUpdate; uneven heating increases. Just made sandwiches and the bottoms are burnt and the tops haven't even started to brown. The thing goes in the trash can. I want my money back!
