Works great for metal. I bought this to file a flute body that was too tight for ease of assembly/disassembly. He also did a great job leveling guitar frets and sanding down the cork on a muffler. The cloth backing makes it easy to tear into strips to suit the job at hand and offers flexibility on rounded surfaces where paper sanding paraphernalia can tear and break.
