I love these shoes and a few years ago we had a velcro version for my daughter. Now that she can tie her shoelaces I was excited to buy a pair of laces. I had to buy extra laces though as the ones that came with the shoes wouldn't tie! I tried double knotting the bow but it still won't hold. It was a week-long experiment, not a one-time thing. Therefore, in my opinion, these shoes do not fulfill one of their main functions, hence I only give 3 stars.
