I upgraded my internet service and needed a modem that could handle the new bandwidth. I also wanted a device with enough downstream/upstream to handle multiple people working from home or studying at home while streaming music or shows. This modem does everything along with a router than it can handle the same thing. Mine is connected to a TP-LINK Archer C3150 router. I also didn't want to pay for a newer DOCSIS 3.1 modem since I don't have a 1Gig plan. The discounted price of the upgraded product was perfect. I was able to register the modem with Comcast/Xfinity with no problems. The modem has been working stably for 10 months without any problems. This is a great product for data plans up to 500Mbps with multiple concurrent users. Modems and routers are devices that either work or don't work. The updated product will work as new until it stops working. Modems are very simple and reliable devices. I am an IT professional with many years of experience.
