The curve is required. This makes you feel involved in the gameplay and gives you a wider field of view while keeping everything in view. The refresh rate is excellent, both for FPS and open work games. Colors are vibrant and I was able to put the screen into gaming mode in minutes to improve the picture for gaming without having to consult a manual. Very easy stand assembly. Eventually I'll add an arm and another monitor, but I'm very happy with my current setup.
