I bought two of these shelves for the hallway of my house. I was afraid they would be cheap but the positive reviews convinced me to buy them. I'm glad I did, they are very expensive. I'm moving my jewelry to a modern country house and they fit me perfectly. The assembly was quite difficult, but I assembled it myself. If I had waited for my husband's help, everything would have been easier. But I didn't want to wait. :-) Once assembled with all the screws tightened, the furniture is pretty solid. It's not real wood but the pattern on the shelves looks ok. Iron legs are black with powder coating. The shelves are perfect for the items I wanted to display. I recommend!
