Little Gem in a Vise

This little vise is for bits 61 through 80. I tried the number 80 in it and the little vise holds it securely. It will actually hold the number 56. Of course, Starrett makes 162B and 162C vises for the larger sizes. The small vice is very well made, I think they are from the USA. Well done - shows quality. It's small. It is approximately 3" long and the handle is approximately 3/16" in diameter. You can put a micro drill in this vise and then put the vise in a regular drill chuck, although that's not the goal and will most likely break the drill. These little bits are really meant to be used in a vise or one of the little reciprocating drills made for them. For those who appreciate good tools, this is a neat little device.

Pros
  • HOLDS UP TO 1MM: This pin vise model securely holds workpieces up to .040" (1mm) in diameter, including small workpieces, taps, drills, reamers, scribers, wire, small files and other tools
Cons
  • Not bad but...
