I ordered two of these ballasts to replace the ballasts in a dual fluorescent downlight. These were the exact same ballasts that blew out after a few years of use and the installation was a quick replacement. Although inexpensive, the total cost of two ballasts is unlikely to be justified if an aging luminaire fails again. We hope that LED bulbs will improve and become cheaper in the near future. Addendum (01.10.15): One of these ballasts failed after only 1 year. I am very disappointed in the long term reliability of this part and have replaced the entire fixture due to the high cost of replacing ballasts and fluorescent tubes and frequent failures.
