Too loud for a residence.
The vent is extremely well made and would probably last for years but makes a loud rhythmic clacking as the louvres flap open and shut and strike each other and the vent frame when the dryer is in use. Even the neighbors complained about the noise when we ran the dryer at night. My young son’s room is adjacent to vent and he will turn the dryer off before going into his room to play or read. I tried a couple things to make quieter with minimal success and compromised the ability of the louvres to seal when not in use. Will be replacing it hopefully with something quieter.
- The vent is well made, but the gasket is too small so it complicates the install.
- my duct work is long and didn't have enough pressure to open the flaps
