I cannot assess the intended use of this product. I have used it in a way that can help those who have projects like mine to increase clamping capacity for large adhesives. They were used for Bessey ¾ pipe clamps on 5 foot Pipe Decor 3/4 inch ductile iron pipe because I needed a few inches more clamp length to make the bed. It is important to note that mortise and tenon connections do not require large clamping forces. You may need to use wood washers for the connectors as they are about 3/16" above the pipe (Fig.). The connecting pipe thread was not cut as deep as would be expected with a tapered pipe thread (Fig.). Four clamps were used, two at the top and two at the bottom. The plugs were sent quickly, the packaging is excellent.
