Review on πŸ” DEWALT DW6913 Router Edge Guide with Fine Adjustment and Vacuum Adaptor by Rashid Summers

Mediocre quality power tool parts and accessories

I bought this edge guide and a Dewalt 618 plunge router set at the same time. I have an older Black and Decker Elu 3338 Plunge Router Guide but didn't know if it would fit on a 618. The good news is that my older, much better made edge guide fits a 618. The good news is that this current offering from Black and Deck/Dewalt is very disappointing. The entire body of my old rail is aluminum and is very strong. The body of this leading edge is made of stamped sheet metal, except for the depth adjustment knob. If that's not enough, the tool's designer incorporated a dust collection port at the bottom of the rail. This feature requires the edge of the workpiece to be on the edge of the work table, so the edge stop dust box hangs over the empty space. or the workpiece needs to be lifted to make room for the connector and vacuum hose. It looks like the port can be removed, but I don't know if it comes out completely.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled
