This kid is trying really hard but I'm not overly impressed. Although he tried it in multiple places, side, back and bottom, it never generated the heat advertised. It also kept falling off the pane of my aquarium. I ended up having to buy heat bulbs to supplement its heat, and. I gave it up altogether when I got a big tank. I gave 2 stars because the customer service was excellent when my first unit arrived with a defect. It also got 2 stars because I think it works better in a smaller tank. Although mine was only 10 gallons, a vertical tank with less surface area on the bottom could perhaps stay warmer. All in all I don't recommend it.
