I almost gave this unit 3 stars but due to its reliability I decided to give 4. This thing works great with raspberry pis. I've used them to drive motors and LEDs (they're PWM after all) and they work great. The build quality of some of them is questionable so I think quality control is a bit lacking, but they all seem to work. The only real complaint I have is the 5V DC regulator. A common use case for them is controlling motors with microcontrollers (or Raspis) and using the 5V output on them to power the microcontroller to supply with electricity. This works fine, but the regulator gets very hot, regardless of the current drawn. I haven't confirmed this, but I suspect the 5V regulator isn't a switching regulator, it simply burns up the voltage difference between your power supply and the 5V. This is an odd design choice considering the entire board itself is a switching regulator (PWM) is ). But, as I said, their reliability helped me not to notice. I've put them in non-air conditioned rooms with no overheating issues (they get very hot but keep ticking). Would recommend for any hobby or small electronic projects (just don't burn yourself using the 5v output).
