We used these on the mat we have. Didn't last a week. Granted, we have a dog and my son chases him through a jogger all the time, but that's why we bought them. We had a matte material underneath for over 10 years and it started to move so we replaced it with this one. As a result, they stuck to the floor, not the carpet. I think they don't have enough space. Smaller rugs can hold them. Carpet for heavily frequented rooms. Not as much,
