I previously posted a review which I need to correct now. While this was not a negative or positive review per se, I feel it was an unfair review so I would like to correct it. This item didn't fit my BMW's OBD port so I used it in my Mazda 3. It works exactly as advertised and has an option that I really like. On the back of the head that connects to the OBD port is a small switch that allows you to maintain constant power or turn off your device automatically. I use my dash cam and usually leave it in shutdown mode as my camera automatically turns off after 5 minutes of inactivity. However, if you are stopped, the first thing the police will tell you is to turn off the engine. After 5 minutes, of course, my camera turned itself off. However, if I switch it to "always on" mode, the entire keystroke is recorded completely. Pretty important feature for me and others I'm sure. My camera will now work until my battery reaches a dangerously low level. At that point, this cable will recognize this and shut down to conserve battery power.
