Failed to load media. First let me say that I am not a professional and I do not trade. I'm a DIY guy. This caulking gun is actually pretty impressive. It's slightly larger than the standard cheap Home Depot 3.00 shotgun. It fits standard seal tubes of the same size (10.1 oz). The barrel (yellow part) continuously rotates 360 degrees. It can be handy to rotate the tube, but the seal tube I used rotated in the barrel without having to rotate the yellow one. The back of the handle, where the palm rests, is rubberized. On the left is a cutter for the tube nozzle and on the right is a metal rod used to punch the tube into the freshly cut nozzle. This kick (I don't know what it's called) works and snaps into place. To load, simply pull the handle / a thick metal rod sticks out at the back. It requires more power than the cheap ones. Maybe five pounds of force. There is no release lever like the cheap ones. There is a rubber friction washer that you can use to keep tension on the bar, but you can push it back with some force. This allows the rod to slide back when you let go of the trigger, releasing the pressure in the tube and preventing all of the contents from constantly spurting out of the nozzle. This rubber washer, it seems to me, has the potential to be a consumable item that will break after a period of time. In my case it could be 5 or even 10 years. The time will show. The movement that pushes the bar forward is not done by a rubber washer but by a metal lever like the cheap ones. Even if the rubber wears out, it shouldn't affect the purpose of the item because when you let go of the trigger, the pressure is released. is released on the tube and thus stops the dosing, making it drip-free. Of course, if you have some material, it can fall under gravity. Using weapons in the field, I would see this situation come about. If you pull the trigger slightly and release, you will see that some of the sealant is actually being sucked back into the nozzle, releasing the pressure. In my opinion, this tool is money well spent. I caulked the baseboard on the landing (both sides) with no towel, and there was absolutely nothing on the carpet. The only cleaning was the tip of my finger as I smoothed out the sealant in the crease. Watch the video (yes, I wrongly say the comparison pistol is a 10, then a 6, then a 4.
