Review on Civil War Reenactment Dickens Faire Victorian 3 Piece Cape Sash Dress by Alex Tellekson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for Dickens Fair!

This is exactly what was looking for in a Dickens Christmas fair costume. It is simple and comfortable. The fabric material is smooth and appears to be of good quality. The skirt is voluminous but there is a drawstring waistband so it should fit everyone. The skirt was too long for me as I am only 5 feet tall, but I was able to tuck the excess length from the waist and stuff it into my petticoat underneath, which has almost a control top so it holds the excess fabric well. I recommend wearing this with a petticoat or hoop to be historically accurate and to take up some of the volume of the skirt. I chose a petticoat because I still need to drive to my destination. The cape is quite nice although the ribbon is a bit on the cheap side. I don’t really care as this is a costume, and if you care you can replace with a velvet ribbon. I also ones with a long dash which you use I help hold up the skirt as well. I got the burgundy color, which is a nice burgundy color. I bought a black felt bonnet on Revain to go with this and I will add some ribbons, flowers and stuff to spruce up the bonnet. I will wear it with a high neck blouse. I am ready for the fair! When I get all dressed up, I will update with a picture.
