To be honest it has made my life easier. I have a couple of measles, all food especially shrimp pellets seems to get eaten by the substrate and not the fish as they break apart too easily. (Then the water changes took ages) I always leave this in my tank and just add food with tongs to make sure they fall onto the plate and at first they took a while to find their food but now they shine to return from the plate to check from time to time whether there is new food. The food stays on the plate and everything is eaten. Food waste has been significantly reduced and when cleaning the substrate I noticed how much cleaner it is in comparison.
