Review on πŸ’ͺ Wej PD58: Optimal Performance with Internally Threaded Diameter by Brian Vasquez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Female Thread Depth Short

In general, I have used these anchors on my MaxJax lift in the past. No problem with what I got with the lift back then. Decided to install a few more in the garage and ordered two of these boxes from Revain. I started with a box and after installing 2 of the 5 screws I noticed my screws weren't screwed all the way in. I checked the thread depth of all 2x5 items in my two boxes and for the first box the thread depth was within spec at 1.5 inches for all 5 pieces, but for the second box the thread depth was only 1.25 inches or some Anchors even less than 1 inch. "Made in China" is also written on these boxes. That's what you get. I think one box is ok, the other is junk. I think it's cheaper and faster for them to thread 1" than 1.5" and no one seems to check the quality of these parts. I am returning a box and replacing it with a new one, hoping that the new box has the correct 1.5" internal thread depth on all 5 anchors in the box. Second, the sacrificial bolt, washer, and nut that comes with the kit are also junk. My original MaxJax sacrificial bolt had three stripes on the head (indicating a Class 5 bolt). However, with such a set, the washer will be severely deformed and bent under the correct torque. Neither the washer nor the nut are grade 5. Your best bet is to go to a hardware store and buy a long 5/8" grade 8 bolt (3" or 4" will do), a grade 8 nut, and a Class 8 washer. Also get some class 8 washers. 8 which increase in size with their outside diameter. I usually put a class 8 washer just under the nut and then a couple of large washers that increase in size underneath (the largest hits concrete) This will spread the load when you are trying to tighten the anchor at install time and your washers won't bend like that. You don't want to find out that the threads aren't deep enough after you're done installing .only 4 of the 5 anchors met the 1.5" spec. The fifth anchor had less than 1.5 inch threads. There doesn't seem to be any quality control on the depth of the internal threads. Don't put a too long bolt on this anchor as it will rotate your anchor in the concrete once the bolt enters the bottom of the anchor.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
