Review on Garmin Vívoactive Smaller Sized Smartwatch Monitoring by Besim Kahsar

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My watch's battery life isn't bad, YMMV.

Update 2. Reduced to 4 stars. The battery life is still okay, but the battery indicator is off. I don't know how else to describe it other than the battery "using" 2% some days and "using" 25% or more other days. Battery life is still around the 6-7 day mark, but readings aren't showing the expected gradual decline. This is perhaps the most annoying problem with watches. All other features continue to work as expected. Currently on day 6 with 26% left. Update 1: The clock still works as expected for the most part. My typical usage can typically provide 6-7 days of battery life. One point I noticed is that the watch occasionally (once every 10 days) drains its battery. Drop about 40% in a few hours. I notice that restarting the watch fixes the problem. It's annoying, but doesn't bother me. Initial review: The battery life of this watch is as expected (4-5 days). With clock + hour (no GPS, music, heart rate) it uses 12-15% battery per day. The pulse of an ox while sleeping (approx. 8 hours) burns an additional 10% per day. It is also very important to turn off the second hand if you want to conserve battery life. Refreshing the screen every second also eats up the battery. I think the watch used about 5% battery in the first 3-4 hours before I turned off the second hand. they awaken your expectations. In terms of functionality, the pedometer is small. The watch counts about twice as many steps as I actually do. In the few workouts I've done, it takes me a minute to remember which button to pause/move to the next set. I know there are only two buttons, but I've accidentally interrupted my workout more times than I care to admit. I had to reset the watch multiple times when trying to mess with the watch face settings. The touch function always thought I was touching the screen instead of actually trying to scroll through the menu items. It took a minute for the GPS to lock up. You must be outside trying to get a GPS signal if you're hoping to get a signal quickly. The GPS was very accurate in tracking my activity. I don't think the sleep tracking feature is what I expected. If you lie in bed for a while after waking up, the watch thinks that you are still in a light sleep phase.
