I just got this mask over the weekend and had a chance to try it on a very cold run this morning - 11 degrees Fahrenheit in 10 degree winds. As others have noted, this is a lighter mesh material that is very breathable. I've worn two hats over this as well as many other layers and have found that this gives a nice extra layer of protection for my neck, cheeks and nose (exactly what I was looking for). I love this mask. more breathable than a thicker fleece ski mask (which I have also used and which retains much more moisture when inhaled). I also like that this mask is "articulated" so you can easily move the nose/mouth cover up or down, which I did several times during today's workout. I wouldn't wear this mask alone in very cold weather (which for me means running an hour or more in 20 degrees or colder weather, often with wind), but if you incorporate it into your layering strategy, it will do it perfectly.
