I'm painting again so it's good that I get out of the house a lot and my latest work comes out great, but I needed better lighting. I must have spent at least an hour comparing lights, reading reviews and specs and I chose these because of the specs but ultimately found them misleading. First off, I needed more flexibility in positioning and brightness. This lamp has a beautiful design, it is light but durable and elegant. It adjusts well for range, but the 2 places it let me down were: 1) It's not the brightest setting I was expecting, especially when the specs rated it at 850 lumens. I doubt. It's a lively environment, but I expected more. It's no brighter than a regular desktop model. 2) Even more frustrating is that you can't direct the light yourself towards the surface, towards the work or away from it. I would have sworn you could when I was considering buying this light, but no. It stays at the same shallow angle because it's fixed, which I didn't expect. You can move the device up and down, but what's the point? I certainly don't. Having flowers doesn't matter either, I don't care. I had to return it but needed something to keep going so I kept it and was generous with the value.
