Review on Elite Gourmet ESM2207 Sandwich Non Stick by Greg Festa

Not for thick sandwiches

Not like the Salton I had years ago. The first time I used it, I made tuna, green beans, and cheese, which is exactly what I've done before and bought this for. It had thicker potato bread. Half a can of tuna, canned green beans, hand-pressed, and two slices of cheese each. When I closed it I knew it was going to be a challenge. The old Salton had more ground clearance and more metal construction. I tried to close it all the way and a piece of plastic broke off the top. The handle is separated from the grilling surface, making it weak and therefore fragile. I let him cook with unlocked. The latch also has a disruptive design. It doesn't have a stop, so it twists too far forward when you try to close it. He didn't make the sandwiches even though he wasn't completely closed, but the cheese melted. Love this style that seals the edges of the sandwich unlike panini makers. It's like what I'll have to buy when the companies stop making them the way Salton used to.
