I installed this as a front camera on a 2017 Ford F250 grille. I used one of the boot switches (switches on the ceiling of my truck) to turn the camera on and off myself. The advantage of this device is that the monitor turns off after a few seconds if no camera signal is received. And it turns on automatically when it receives a camera signal. So even though the camera and monitor are powered by two separate power supplies, I still only have to use one switch. The daytime camera is great. The night vision seems great, but I've only used it at night in dimly lit areas. Not exactly dark. The only negative thing I would say about the product is that the magnets that hold the monitor to the mount are not very strong. I ended up using double sided tape. Which worked fine after removing the magnets and rubber cover. If you are using a power strip for your monitor, you will need to purchase a higher quality fuse. Another 3 amps. The supplied fuse is of poor quality. I've only had this installed for about 36 hours, but so far I think I've made a great purchase.
