I installed this as a front camera on a 2017 Ford F250 grille. I used one of the boot switches (switches on the ceiling of my truck) to turn the camera on and off myself. The advantage of this device is that the monitor turns off after a few seconds if no camera signal is received. And it turns on automatically when it receives a camera signal.
