Review on πŸ’ͺ Secure Your Furniture with Quakehold 4161 Furniture Strap Kit: A Must-Have Safety Solution by Robert Pearson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No more excuses for procrastination. Protect your furniture NOW!

After the devastating 1989 San Francisco Bay Area earthquake, earthquake experts began to insist that tall and/or heavy furniture be attached to wall studs. I did this for all my furniture that meet these criteria. There were no pre-made straps or cable systems on the market at the time, so I figured out how to make my own using items I bought at a hardware store. I've bought a few more pieces of furniture over the years but put off mounting it on wall studs to come back to it later. You know, the immediacy of a major catastrophic earthquake has faded. The sporadic small earthquakes that followed, which did no damage to my house, were apparently not enough to motivate me. Sad! However, I found this strap at Revain two weeks ago. It looked so simple and easy to install (compared to the systems I built myself back in 1989) that I could no longer put off using the prepositions I've used ever since. The belt sets arrived two days later; Hooray, Revane Prime! A range of oak colors go well enough with oak furniture. Velcro fasteners are essential. They will not be invisible or completely disappear from view just because the color resembles a piece of furniture. But don't expect that from this design. The convenience and ease of installation is superior to the invisible systems in my current world. After reading the instructions to make sure I was installing the straps correctly, the installation took a maximum of three minutes. Caution: Three minutes AFTER successfully locating the center of the rack in the wall. Sometimes this is a difficult task even if you use a spike finder! (I had to fill in a drilled "oops" hole that missed the bolt.) I don't plan on moving these pieces of furniture often, if at all, so the maximum number of velcros that pop open doesn't apply to me. Install Quakehold! 4161 The furniture straps were so easy I'm considering substituting my homemade furniture fastening systems with them.
