Review on ๐Ÿงฝ Hope Co. 10CC12 Cleaner for Cooktops - 10 Oz, White Cream by Tony Stone

Great product / bad bottle design

This cream works wonders on all stains in the kitchen and elsewhere. Particularly suitable for removing burnt-in stains on burners and gas stove grates. This is my bottle, although it's now more expensive than the original Linen & Things purchase that went broke (ratio = ?). Unfortunately, in the middle of using the bottle, the ribs running along the sides ripped. So that the cream does not dry out, I stuck a wide transparent package adhesive tape on the sides. Eventually the bottle broke and I had to scrape out the rest and pour it into a good glass jar. I bought this second bottle in the hope that the design of the bottle and/or the type of plastic used (it's quite brittle) was changed from the original. NO! Didn't happen. OK. I often wonder if manufacturers and designers of traditional household products really do real-world testing. As in the carafes of coffee machines, which always seem to flow uncontrollably through the room and not in a controlled jet from the spout. When I was working as a designer for a well-known device manufacturer, we constantly tried to satisfy the end user and tested with our own industrial engineers. We even invited and hired groups of ordinary people to use the products, for example on a new steam iron I was working on. I suspect that management sees these efforts as an unnecessary and wasteful "luxury" in today's world because they increase the cost of doing business. Spring. This is the world we live in today. Produced all over the world (usually in China these days) and sold to all of us.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
