I think that this lens is a definite "must have" for those who need a wide-angle lens. It was released after the much-loved 17-35. But the manufacturer did not pursue aperture, but relied on functionality. For shooting with modern cameras with the ability to set the sensitivity to ISO 800 or more, there will probably be no problem with aperture. In addition, it is reasonable that the use of width is landscape, landscape photography and reporting. It is for the latter type of shooting that the lens has a motor that really helps to quickly focus and "hook" on the subject. Again, as if to compensate for the lack of aperture, there is a vibration reduction system that copes even better at wide than on a telephoto, which means that this will allow us to shoot with longer shutter speeds without stirring. The main advantage of the lens is its picture. Sharp and beautiful, one of the sharpest for Nikon and for the widths of this range of focal lengths in general. Many people, choosing between 17-35 and 16-35, lean towards the second precisely because of its sharpness. The lens holds backlight well - this is a feature of almost all Nikon's top series lenses. The most versatile 16-35 will be on a full-frame camera, the range of focal lengths covers the entire classic wide-angle range. More wide-angle lenses already give more distortion, at 16-35 it is quite tolerable. In summary, a great all-around wide-angle lens for full-frame cameras, sharp and beautifully patterned.
