Please note these clamps will NOT fit the Lowes/Home Depot 4x4 weatherproof wood frame. That wasn't a problem with a luggage rack - these collars do not fit on any of the 4x4s. It wasn't just a little - no amount of "conviction" with a hammer mattered - they just didn't match. Since we had a limited time window and capacity in Alaska, we had no choice but to set up a template and mill material on all sides of all the posts! To make matters worse, we had to shave the post about 16 inches so we had enough room to raise the collar so we could install the floor panels (sold separately). We then had to recoat the 4x4 with preservative. Can you tell that time is frustrating and time consuming! On the plus side, it's a quality product, looks good, and is made for a solid deck (assuming you can fit it into the deck frame and not just the deck boards - that's according to the instructions we followed T.) . They give the deck a nice finished look.
