My husband really liked the simple trimmer in this set. It's quieter than your old trimmer and cuts hair nice and close. He wasn't thrilled with some of the attachments but said the basic trimmer was good. He said he tried using a trimmer head with a guard to leave some length and it didn't work. He's had issues with clippers pulling or pulling hair in the past, and said this one cut what he actually caught but just missed a lot of hair. The basic trimmer with no attachments was great, but the attachments were disappointing.
