Review on πŸ’¨ High-Performance 120GB SATA III SSD 3D TLC/QLC Solid State Drive by Brian Barnes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good SATA III performance but low enough to compete with big brands (see details)

My experience with Unirex prior to Unirex 120GB Premium SATA III SSD was limited to cheap USB flash drives. While I'm sure it's only white label, going out with a real SSD represents more upscale coverage than I expected. In general, you don't expect much performance from a SATA III SSD compared to their NVMe counterparts. On the other hand, the ubiquity of the 2.5-inch form factor and SATA III interface means this is a worthwhile upgrade for older hardware. A read STR of 528 MB/s and a write STR of 474 MB/s is good, although clearly not. "One of those SATA SSDs that can completely fill the interface. Despite the drive's QLC, the write speeds don't feel bad on relatively short writes. If you think you're the type of user who will fill the SLC buffer early, have QLC write capability, this is not the drive for you, someone said it had a Phizon controller, but even though I removed the sticker, I couldn't find an obvious way to open the drive.be assembled, never to open again. Well. On the whole this drive is perfectly fine. The problem is probably not the Unirex at all. The problem is that its price is EXACTLY the same as the PNY CS900 or Kingston A400 although the Unirex is that budget -drives are probably in no way inferior, there is no denying that these brands have a lot more capital!
