Fairly good quality, genuine leather. Of course, this won't be the highest quality belt you'll ever own, but it's just beautiful. Many people don't understand how size works for them. These are lap belts, not standard belts, so they run a little small. Regular belts worn with pants are larger because they are designed to wrap around you at a point between your waist and hips. These waist belts are more for fastening dresses/tops etc. You can of course use them as a regular belt but you need to take that into account when choosing your size. It depends on the brand, but I usually wear size 6 shorts with an average waist of 28 inches (varies slightly with water intake, salt, etc.). I ordered a small and can wear it from the smallest to medium bow depending on how tight or loose I want it (on bare skin). There are 5 loops spaced about an inch apart so I assume this can be worn by anyone from a size 0 or 2 to an 8 or 10. Obviously they can't make it very slim for a small waist, but it will still be good for slimming the waist. Anyone under the age of 0 or 2 can probably wear a small belt as their standard belt (not at the waist). As a size 6, a medium would be MUCH too big for me.
