A MUST when camping in sub-zero temperatures

If you're setting up your motorhome for sub-zero temperatures, this is for you! I'm sure Camco will stay in business because of the newbies who don't know any better. Heated hoses (and most other products) are junk, but they're something that's always on the shelves. DO NOT use Camco heated hose. I used that and for $25 more in tape and foam I had a much better tube for less than the cost of a camco that would snap at the worst possible moment. Order the one closest to your hose, but no longer than it, first. Lay your hose on the floor and tape the heater strip to the hose every 12-14 inches. It's much faster with two people, but you can do it yourself. Use some cheap pipe insulation from your hardware store to wrap the combo. Pin it the same way at the ends/seams where it meets. Make sure the round knob on the thermostat is OUTSIDE the insulation. Also, make sure you don't have a foot or two of thermal tape dangling from the other end. It's a waste. Plug it in and let it do its thing. We camped in clear weather, the nights dropped to a few degrees below zero and the water hose NEVER froze up all week. That was excellent.
