Update 2 - I've been wearing these since May, and with the groves in the sandal trapping the dirt and sweat, that foot smell has become trapped in the sandal. You can't get rid of it. I clean them every couple days now with a clorox or lysol wipe but they still stink, and it's gotten worse over only 4 months of owning these.Update- these sandals are gross. The texture traps dirt and then it mixes with your sweat and becomes a nasty black goo. You have to clean these weekly, or else the dust/sweat mix trapped in the grooves smells.I'll be switching back to my Tevas, the texture under the foot on them takes much longer to have this buildup, only needed cleaned monthly instead of weekly like these.I've been wearing Teva sandals every summer for the last 8 or 10 years or so. Last pair i have had for 3 or 4 years now and they're about shot. So, being a little tight on the budget i ordered these Camel's since they're about a third the price of the Teva model i like.I just got them from UPS today, put them on a few minutes ago and i'm not really happy with them. I know they won't feel the same as my 3 yr old teva's, they need to be broken in, but first impression is not good. The soles feel hard on my feet, but they're just as soft as my Teva's. Now that reality is restored and my mind has that set in place, it's moved to the texture on the soles under my feet. It's just not that comfy right out of the box. Almost feels like my feet are super wrinkled, like i was walking in wet socks and shoes all day. It's a weird texture. So i get off my butt and walk around the office, make a few laps. and i'm happy, they're actually quite comfy, and sitting back down at my desk the ridged texture on the soles gives my toes something to play with lol.The arches are a little far back for my feet though, i wear a size 11 or 12 shoe depending, so i ordered a size 11 sandal. and they fit perfect, my toes and heel are just short of the ends of the sandal, not extra sandal sticking out to trip over or flip rocks up under my feet. What do i like about them? I really like the traction on the bottom, that's the other reason i switched to these, other than the price. I also like the straps. My Teva's have never had padding under the straps where they go against your skin. These do, and i love that. The straps are very comfy. The construction of these is just as good as a Teva. the straps go into the sole and under your foot it feels like, just like my Teva's. Same plastic buckle things the straps run through, so i expect they'll last just as long as my old Teva sandals.I had marked these as 4 stars, but they're a 5 star sandal for what i paid for them. no more Teva's for me when i can find the sames quality at this price.
