Does the job, but not quietly

My air compressor has two of these mufflers/mufflers. I lost one on a moving expedition (from a Lowes dumpster to my garage) after installing it alongside a stock muffler/silencer, there is a very noticeable difference in decibel output from one piston to the next. Maybe 80% louder. This is a quiet, engineered air compressor built for silent operation. So maybe this particular product isn't ideal for maximum sound absorption, but it fits and is good value.
