This is a cost effective USB docking station. Most home use laptops don't have a docking connector, so you can use this type of docking station to connect multiple devices without having to plug and unplug them every day. Cost was the main reason I chose this model, there are other USB 3.0 models around $100 but this one seems to work fine. It's just that I can't connect 2 monitors because it doesn't have HDMI or a second one. VGA/DVI connection. It has ports for fast charging of mobile devices. Serious problems for 2 months of use were not noticed. If you have USB 3.0 and are happy with the $100 price point, there are better alternatives in the more expensive range that can support dual monitors and offer faster transfer rates.
