I was lucky enough to purchase this shredder at a greatly reduced price but that only adds to my overall satisfaction. The shreds are very small, so there is no doubt about safety. He's pretty quiet - it's easy to have a normal conversation. I bought this as an alternative to paying a shredder over $1,500 to shred my business documents. He worked nearly 8 hours a day for weeks and just kept panting. If I could change one thing I would do it faster, but that's only because I have over 100 boxes of documents to shred. I also bought blade lube and use it every few hours when sharpening. The shards are tiny and tend to scatter everywhere when emptying the bin, so have a vacuum handy. It has an internal fan and hasn't overheated yet. I've worn out three of the smaller choppers in the same amount of time as this one. I highly recommend this, but maybe wait until the $165 price tag comes back up.
