I currently have a laptop with two additional monitors for work and a desktop with one monitor for home. The desktop and laptop actually use my largest monitor through this KVM switch. On the back of the device there are 2 HDMI IN connectors (for two devices with one monitor) and one HDMI OUT connector (outputs to the monitor). There are also 2 USB ports to connect to any computer. The front of the device has a button to switch between devices and an indicator light that shows which computer is selected: left or right. There are also 4 USB ports that are active for each selected computer. I don't use USB as I have a separate keyboard and mouse for each computer, but if you want each computer to use the same input devices you can plug them into the front USB ports. I've been using it for a week now and I'm happy with my purchase. My only minor complaint is that I would like the toggle button to be on the top of the device instead of the front.
